How to force firmware update locallyUpdated a year ago

If you're encountering issues while attempting to update your TickrMeter device via the app, worry not. There's an alternative method where you can manually download the update on your phone and upload it to your TickrMeter. This guide will walk you through the process.

Please remember to have your TickrMeter plugged in during the whole process!

Step 1: Download the Latest Firmware

To start off, you need to download the most recent firmware for your TickrMeter to your phone or laptop. https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0549/5432/8246/files/FW-45.bin?v=1692727390

Step 2: Enable Hotspot Mode on Your TickrMeter

Next, you need to make your TickrMeter enter its hotspot mode. This can be done by disconnecting the unit from the WiFi it's currently connected to. You can achieve this by either turning off the WiFi or moving the unit out of WiFi range and restarting it.

Step 3: Connect to TickrMeter's WiFi

With your TickrMeter now in hotspot mode, it will emit its own WiFi signal named "TickrMeter". Using your phone or laptop, locate and connect to this network.

Step 4: Upload the Firmware

After you've connected to the "TickrMeter" WiFi network, open a web browser and navigate to the following URL: 192.168.4.1/update. You'll find an option to upload the firmware file that you downloaded earlier. Select the file, press 'Update Device', and patiently wait for a few minutes for the update process to finish.

Step 5: Reconnect to Your WiFi

Once the update has successfully completed, you need to reconnect your TickrMeter to your regular WiFi network. After this, your TickrMeter should be up-to-date and ready to use.

This guide provides a reliable workaround for instances when the app update process isn't successful. If you encounter any issues during this process.
